August 22, 2012 - Sharon Van Etten has just finished her 2012 summer tour after this show in Cleveland Wednesday evening, the band had just completed 25 shows in the last five weeks and goes back on tour in the UK next month, this will be the second time that the band has toured Europe in as many months. This show was also the last of the Rock + Roll Hall Of Fame Summer Concert Series shows for the summer.
Van Etten mostly performed songs from her highly acclaimed album ‘Tramp’ as well as a couple songs from her previous album, ‘Epic’.
My still photos are here. The YouTube playlist below has a handful of videos from the evening.

The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame Summer Concert Series kicked off Wednesday with a couple young Cleveland bands that have been getting some attention outside the Ohio. Many have already heard of Cloud Nothings whose bottle rocket rise has been pretty amazing. With an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel, a European Tour and Pitchfork, Rolling Stone high praise, one only wonders how high they can fly.
Herzog hasn’t been fortunate enough to garner that kind of exposure but that doesn’t mean they don’t deserve favor. With a distinct Ohio sound and great song writing [Nick Tolar] as well as putting on a great show, Herzog should have their share of credit in due time.

This outdoor show had an experienced sound-guy [Gary/8th Day] behind a sweet sound system for the Herzog set that allowed the audience to concentrate on the music without distraction. That’s not a dig on the sound guy that followed, whom may have been unfamiliar with the board.
I have a dozen or so stills of this show here, the above YouTube playlist has a few videos of the evening.
*Special thanks to whomever’s decision it was to have Uncle Scratch playing between sets.
